Timing experts please educate me

Question:

Will a 22R start and run with the #3 and #4 wires crossed?

I have doubled and tripled checked the timing marks on the timing chain, removed and replaced the dizzy three times to make sure it was correct.

Checked Valve clearances twice

Truck will not start.
Added fuel to carb truck starts for a second or two but misfires badly.

Researched firing order and the block is 1234 front to back and the dizzy fires 1342.

I noticed that the #3 and #4 wires were crossed so I am hoping this is the reason she would not start and the solution is just switching the wires to their correct spark plugs.

At work right now so I cannot put it back together to fire her up until tomorrow morning.

Any and All Help is Appreciated!

Thank you

Red face

Yes that could cause it not to start .

See what happens

Some times till you get the bugs out these engines can be a little cranky

Good wires Cap and Rotor and Spark Plugs can make a big difference.

Yank both of them and see what happens. But, if it starts running turn it off before touching the wires.

Thanks guys you guys are awesome!!

got her back together but now have to fix stripped spark plug holes in the head.
the PO had fixed it before with HeliCoils and I did not know that or I would of been a little easier on them. Now I gotta get these two stripped holes fixed so I can crank her over.

right now she just spits the plugs out when I crank her over.
