Ooo, almost forgot. How much are their OEM wires? Do you know?

 

I'm also about to replace my wires and plugs so I so looked up the specs on the Toyota Field Service Manual for a 5VZ-FE, Here they are:

Recommended Spark Plug: ND (Denso) K16TR11, NGK BKR5EKB-11
Correct electrode gap: 1.1 mm (0.043 in.)
Primary ignition coil resistance: Cold = 0.67 - 1.05 Ohms, Hot = 0.85 - 1.23 Ohms
Secondary ignition coil resistance: Cold = 9.3 - 12.0 kOhms Hot = 11.7 - 18.8 kOhms

The plugs that they recommend are actually quite reasonable (ND $2.31, NGK $4.31 at sparkplugs.com). I don't see any reason to buy the more expensive plugs, unless you have an SC or running custom fuel management software. If those plugs are what Toyota engineers have researched and recommend, I'll take their word for it. As far as the wires go, I agree with what the previous posters have said, as long as they are still within spec, I don't think it is necessary to replace them. There are other goodies I would rather spend my money on.

I picked up a set of OEM wires, including the wire clips (most of mine are missing), for $95. I have no complaints, fitment is something no non-OEM manufacturers can match. In the 3.0, the engine compartment is very tight. It's scary not to have something to keep your plug wires from touching any hot surfaces. Two of my wires were messed up due to that, one of them literally melted when touching the hot EGR pipe. Made the engine run horribly rough.

 

I want the more expensive plugs because they will last a lot longer then regular plugs, and also I'm lazy and don't like doing tune-ups very often . And thanks but I don't think that those specs would be applicable to my engine, which is a 3VZ-E not a 5VZ-FE
