Time for a rebuild she has died!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it finally happened @ 260k miles started my truck ran for about 30 seconds heard a pop and that was it she would not start back. I heard a slight tapping in the timing chain cover so i thought it was broke so i tore it down and found the chain was still like new but the guides and the tensioner had completely destroyed themselves. So I made a late nite run to autozone bought the new kit and got it back together that night. Thought everything was fine tried to start her and nothing!!! Then i took the spark plugs out to check for compression and found the major problem. Cylinders 2 and 3 had absolutly nothing. I took the head off and you can shake the pistons back and forth. This was not my only problem because i had planned to changed the transmission out this week because 1st and 3rd had went out of it. So at this point i have removed the whole drivetrain and have completely disasembled the engine and will be calling the machine shop today. So i will keep you guys posted on how my first rebuild is going and will have some pictures as soon as i get them downloaded onto my computer.

I think you need to get a hold of engnbldr for some parts...master rebuild kit to be exact.

Having all those lil pieces parts like that is not a good thing that's for sure.

Good luck on your build, there are a few folks that are in the middle of theirs and few that just finished. Any questions just search, if you can't find it ask.

Welcome to the club. I'm in the middle of my first rebuild, presently waiting to hear back from the shop.

As for pics, the more the merrier, but yours are showing too small here to see much. Seems your thumbnails aren't linked to your full size pictures. I found this about posting pictures here: https://www.yotatech.com/~corey/help.htm

Just gonna give you guys a little update I finally found the time to get my block and the crank up to the machine shop. I am having it bored out to .20 over and having the crank turned. Also I should by the end of the week have the call into engnbldr to order up my new complete street head with the 261 cam. So once i get the parts in i be posting up some more pics so stayed tuned.
