It was time for a new paint job (56k Beware)

Well, I'm currently home visiting my family for the week, and I got sick of looking at my half painted/half primered truck, so I decided to repaint my truck. After giving it some thought, I started.

My girlfriend and I spent a few hours on Monday night sanding the truck down.

Then, on Tuesday morning, I finished sanding and primered the truck.

Around 3:00, I had a friend come over, and the paint started flying.

This is where she stood at 1:00 this afternoon.

Tonight, we laid down some more black stripes on the back of the cab and touched up some paint. I'll get some more shots Friday, since tomorrow is Ozzfest.

It's all flat rattle can paint. We actually got the idea from a picture of an old K5 Blazer that a friend showed me.

Also, the OD green and tan were done freehand. For the black, we took a couple empty beer boxes and ripped them. Then we selected random pieces and held them together.

And I agree about the girlfriend statement. I even showed her how to use the die grinder, and she took off all the factory decals that wouldn't come off with the heat gun.

Thanks. The only reason I did it was because, last year, I completely revamped the bed. I cut both bed sides out and shaped them with new pieces of sheet metal. Since then, I've been driving around with a truck that was half painted and half primered. Between being sick of looking at that and the fact that the primer was in need of being touched up, I decided, while I had some time off, to do something I won't mind looking at every morning.

Cool,The pattern makes it look more agressive than the typical woodland pattern.
