tie rods end installation on lifted truck

I just bought a 94 toyota ext cab IFS, with a 4 inch pro-comp suspension lift. The alignment has been off and the tires are shot and it also pulls to the left when you hit a bump. I wanted to check the correct way to install the tie rod ends on this application. Right now the ends are pointed up and installed from the bottom. I would assume that they should point down and installed from the top. Anyone know the correct way?

Thanks

Should be from the top down, at least with stock applications. Tie rod end and knuckle opening are tapered just a little so they only fit one way. If you find that the taper in the knuckle arms are going in the wrong direction they may have been reversed from left to right vice versa or someone prior could have drilled them out.

cheers
