Throttle sticking

Alright so, my 22re throttle is sticking sometimes.
Say if i cruise at 1800rpms for a bit, il down shift/neutral it will still stay at 1800 until i tap the throttle. Same goes if im at a light, il hold the throttle just a bit, and it will stay until i tap the the throttle again.

Any tips? Do i need to tighten the cable? Spray some lube? Spring?

Thanks!

The only reason would be dirty cable and or throttle body, so clean the TB and lube the wire and it should be all good.

The throttle cable can fray inside the cable housing and cause the throttle to stick, i had this happen on my 4Runner and i had to replace the throttle cable.

Im having a similar problem. My dashpot was a little sticky, and I think my cold start injector was staying on.

But clean the TB really well ( wrap a screwdriver in rag to hold the butterfly open) first

My cable frayed a bit and gave me the same symtpons you have. I did 2 things that fixed it: I took some wire cutters and snippes the frayed bits short (was only a few strands of cable) and I also greased the cable where it frayed, just to be safe.

It's working good so far. I have a spare home-made throttle cable under the passenger seat. Bought the proper length of cable from lowes and bought the proper cable clips. Should work just as good. OEM cable, i think, was like $120

I belive that was right. I just went to lowes and figured I'd rig a $4 cable on my own. If it works, awesome. If it doesn't, that's $4 well spent realizing OEM dealer parts are worth it.

Mind you, the cable parts are still under my seat. I haven't had to use it yet.

Hm i havent looked into the throttle system much, how hard would is it to pull it out and inspect it? do i have to remove alot of stuff? or adjust anything after i remove it?
I have alot of bike shifter cable laying around to so i could just fab something up.

The cable itself is inside of a plastic sheath, but my cable was frayed near the tip, so I didn't have to pull it out much to see where the problem was occuring.

Take a look at the cable attaching to the throttle pulley. It's a simple setup. You push the gas pedal, the pedal pulls back pulling the cable, the cable pulls the throttle pulley and makes the truck go vrooom.

Shouldn't be hard at all to pull it out to inspect it.
