Fantastic build. What color are you gonna paint it?

Funny, my girlfriend said I should hang it on the wall too. I actually put it on a shelf in the basement to see what it looked like.

I got the front fenders 90% installed tonight, but I'm having issues uploading pics. The fitment on them wasn't the best, so it took a lot of work to get them to line up. I knew this of course, which is why I got the fenders for cheap. It really completes the look of the truck with the front fenders. All I have to do is figure out some sort of mounting for the bottom of the fender. The stock fenders have a bracket on them that bolts to the truck frame. These don't have that bracket, and as a result, there's a 3/4" gap between the mounting nuts, and the fender edge. I'm thinking of finding some longer bolts, and just installing a block of wood in there, or else getting a small section of 3/4" steel square tube, and using that.

Random question, I still have the stock chrome trim for around the wheel arches, front and back. Should I put it back on? I'm thinking no.

Oh, and my truck is now 5 colors. White, Silver, Light Gray, Dark gray, and Black

The trim is ugly. I took mine off except for the front cuz it's holding my rust in place.
I'm slowly removing and/or painting all the chrome on my truck.

fronts are designed to have that gap between the bottom and the rocker . dont use wood .. just a longer bolt , and I use a couple of nuts for "spacers" it's so that mud and crap wont pack in there , and rot out your rocker .. so you can wash what ever gets in there out . glad your getting them on ..

ah, that's a good idea. I'll go grab some longer bolts, and space them out.

I went to the PnP today to source some tail lights, as the bed is designed to use 89+ pickup tails. I pulled some out of a 90 4Runner. Turns out, they're completely different. Oops.

FS: 90 4Runner tails, good condition. $25.

I also went to Home Depot, and picked up some bolts for the bottom mount.

Some M6x30 bolts, and a few minutes, mounts were made. This picture is taken inside the fender, looking at the inside of how I mounted it. The bolts come up through the fender, are secured using a nut, and are screwed into the factory locations on the truck. Perfect!

A profile shot showing how much the new fenders stick out.

And, a side shot at how it blends in with the truck.

Front turn signals and grille have been re-installed. I'm thinking I need to make a new front bumper to better fit the fenders. They stick out a lot further than the stock black rubber bumper end-cap now, and it looks a little funny. Plus, I'm missing the other end cap anyways (It's at the bottom of a mud hole at McLean Creek), the bumper valence is gone, and the whole thing's tweaked from somebody running the truck into something.

Just need some tail lights, and to figure out the gas filler, and the truck's good to go!

Oh, and it needs a new paint job to get everything matching, but that might have to wait until spring. Truck wants a new motor before paint.

I did some measurements today, from the outermost part of the tire to the edge of the fenders:

The back wheels are 2" inside the fender edge, and the fronts are 1.5" inside. Time for some wider meats to fill out those wheel wells a bit more. I can run a 12.5" wide tire on these wheels, and still be flush with the fenders.

Truck's not getting painted until the spring. Once the roads are dried up, and I can take the Supra out, I can take the truck off the road to paint.

The truck looks exactly the same, just with more dirt and snow

New tires!

33x10.5x15 BFG AT KO. A pretty standard tire for these trucks it seems.

I'm also trying to get a hold of my friend who's offered to help me paint the truck. Hopefully within the next month it will be painted.

Hahaha...that looks remarkably like my 4Runner...white front fenders, gray body, and primer on mine. Not to mention Rage Gold bodyfiller...
