T-bars, BJ spacer, and extended schakle
I have already installed the shackles.
I will be doing the BJ spacer soon.
My questions are...
Will I need to crank on the T-bars to fit 33 11.50 tires?
If I crank the T-bars doesn't that make the truck ride stiffer?
It seems most of you like the 10.50 series tires. I like the wider tires but don't think I am prepared to do all the extra work needed to fit 33 12.50's.
I am hoping the 11.50's will fit.
Thanks
Joel

Who makes a 33x11.5 tire anyway? Did you mean 32x11.5?

33x10.50 and 33x15.20 are the two common sizes. A 33x10.50 will fit with a lot less work than a 33x12.50, especially if you stick to the stock 15x7 wheel on the 10.50s. If you go to an 8" rim and the 12.50 tires, you are picking up on the order of 2" width per side and that added width can make tire fitting harder. Why? Because the tire swings a wider arc when steering. When that wider arc intersects the wheel well opening, that is rubbing.

Don't buy thornbirds, buckshot maxxis mudders are a good tire for cheap, but they have nothing on the sidewall for protection or traction. Save you'reself from greif and just get a 10.50. I've searched for alot of tires, and you're only gonna find 11 and 11.50 inch wide tires in a Bias ply or belted tire, and if you're worried about the ride quality changing from T-bar adjustment I woudln't buy em.
EDIT: If you look around Maxxis does make some other tires that are a little better, check into those.

If you don't need to crank the torsion bars, DON'T DO IT! It makes the ride really suck. Do anything in your power to avoid having to crank your torsion bars if at all possible.
I would suggest a 33 x 10.5 or even 33 x 9.5
Yeah the 9.5's would be a little thinner but they will be cheaper, better in snow, easier to turn, slightly better for gas mileage, and they will make fitment of your tires easier. Those or the 33 x 10.5's which are also a nice tire for what you're doing. 33 x 12.5's is too much IMHO.
