Hey guys hows it going. i need some help getting pointed in the right direction here i have a 93 PU 3.0 5 speed ext cab i have 33s and a 3 inch body lift there isnt much rock crawling where im at mainly trails and deep mud. so im looking for a good suspension lift i want around 5 inch lift dont need CRAZY travel its IFS so plz LMK what you guys think

Bracket lift or BJ Spacers are your main objects.
Search for more specifics.

 

BJ spacers are cheap but will not give you 5 inches of suspension lift. They lift the truck about 1.5 inches. Here is a link to some http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...ntSpacer.shtml

I am assuming that you want a lift to fit bigger tires. 35 inch tires are starting to push the limits of the ifs suspension. I would think that 1.5 bj spacers and a 3 inch body lift would clear 35s with a little trimming.
If you are looking for clearance under the truck I would look into making a cross member to lift your transmission. 4crawler has some before and after pictures on his site.
If you are just going for looks then go with the bracket lift.

 

well I don't know what size tries you are looking to upgrade to.But ifs lift goes like this.

A 4 inch Bracket lift will clear 35s but barely.A 3 inch body lift plus a 3 inch bracket lift give a nice stance for 35s.Now A 3 inch body lift and 4 inch bracket lift will clear 37s and those are the absolutle biggest size tire I would go on ifs.

 

i think if you lived closer to me, id stab you in the eyeballs for not searching...

ok cool thanks guys. im not looking to just fit bigger tires or looking for looks there is not big rock crawling around me there are small trails and deep swamp/mud areas so i dont need SAS i dont think and i have been searching the only suspension lifts i can find are like a 3 inch or a cheep 4 in i want a little bigger so and TC is way to much $$$

 

Not many people truly need a solid axle, but for going to tires bigger than 33's it's the best option.

 

right im going to stay with my 33s i just need a little more travel and around a 4 - 5 inch suspension lift i cant find any for a ifs i can only find 3 inchs IDK many off road companys that do bigger lifts for ifs
so just bigger lift and more travel is all i need

 

Drop bracket lifts won't give you more travel. All they do is move everything down 4 inches. All your suspension geometry stays the same.

 

the only thing that will net you more travel is a LT kit like BLAZELAND or Total Chaos or any of them other guys lol

please please please dont get a big suspension lift...with just 33's...it will look COMPLETELY STUPID!!!..what you need to do..is get yourself a 4in bracket lift and some 36x13.50's..it will look AMAZING..look for ovrrdrive's rig..hes running the same setup plus some 1.5" bj spacers

if your wanting to run with the big boys in the mud (the full size trucks) then you need to get you some bigger meats under the truck..and to do that you need more lift...some of the same vendors today used to make all the way up to an 8in. bracket lift..but now only make 4in.

idk about your area...but the places where the full size guys play today will swallow my truck..most of the guys that ACTUALLY go muddin..are sittin on 44's, so i dont try to follow them..i got around there holes up into the woods and over the rocks

of course i once made it through some holes that a guy on 38's BARELY made it through...yes..i was very proud of my little truck

bracket lift is a IFS suspension lift. do what camo31 10.50 said and get you a 4inch suspension lift (4wheelparts.com; topguncustomz.com) and then get you some 1.5inch ball joint spacers (4crawler.com) and maybe a 2inch add-a-leaf (topguncustomz.com) and my vote is for some 35x14.50 boggers, 5.29s, and lockrites F&R

Something else you may want to consider is locking or limited slip differentials. They can help you out quite a bit if the ground's uneven or you don't have quite enough travel and one wheel comes off the ground or even if the ground is slick.

 

yea it would have helped me out alot last night very uneven wet/mud/trails i was going through and a few parts truck would bottom out and two wheel would be hangin and they would be spinning and i would go no where after i get the lift on its way to the house i will search out some lockers as well as some gears too.
