4x4 or 2wd? Manual or auto hubs? manual or auto trans? Turning left or right or both? If it's a 4x4 does the sound go away in 2wd? or with the hubs unlocked or both?
Toyotas are known for making a terrible screeching/creaking/clunking kinda sound when the steering is turned hard over. that comes from the steering stops and there is no real long term fix, they make plastic caps that you can continually replace when they wear out or you can put grease on them until that rubs off. or you can just not turn the steering to full lock.

In addition to member's comments, I had similar issue with 90 T4r 4x4 at 200k miles, blocked rears and lifted front end then took each wheel and tested for side-side and up-down movement and problem became obvious, in my case the idler arm was shot. Replaced front suspension components and handled like it was new.

Idler arm bushing is plastic and fails with cracks then falls apart will lead to a bent idler arm. No biggie. Can upgrade to a bronze bushing or idler arm brace. But they were pretty cheap back then so I carried a less broken one for a trail spare for catastrophic on a trail.
