Surging at idle

My 89 w/22re has begun surging at idle after it warms up. Not always but about half the time. Any suggestions on where to start?

Are you pressing the brake when it surges?

Try turning the idle down see if that helps. Or a Possible vac leak maybe?

I've done a visual for vac leaks, next I'll spray some wd40 on the lines to see if any can be found. The high idle kicks in fine when the engine is cold and comes right down in about a minute. When not surging warm idle seems a little low.

What about fuel pump, filter, or tps. I work on all kinds of older equipment but the 22re is new to me. I dont know how it behaves when they have probs.

+1 for checking the coolant. I had this problem a few months back and it straightened right up when i topped off the radiator.
