Suicidal Starting Problem

My 4Runner just wont start. i turn the key to on and everything comes on and works as it should but then when i try to start it the clock, radio, and lights go dim. the relay clicks and works(swapped it out with my buddys). Replaced the starter, WASTE OF MONEY $150., still wont start. Tryed jumping it after everything and still nothing. dont know if it is the solenoid wire, ignition switch, or a switch somewhere. wiring somewhere is messed up? Dont know? Anything will help!!!!

Sounds like time for a volt meter:

Probably have a dirty or corroded battery cable or connection some place. Use the meter to work back from the starter towards the battery. Could even be a bad battery if you find the voltage at the battery terminal drops too low.

Load test the battery.

If you're really daring, voltage test the cells. Basically, pop the caps and put your probes into each cell. Touch the fluid only, don't push into the plates.

You should see 2.3 volts between cells or about 13.6 across the battery.

Its probably a battery connection. Its enough to power the accessories in the cab, but when it tries to draw large ammounts of amperage the voltage drop is too large to get the starter to go.

I would say battery on its way out, ot a faulty connection somewhere.
