Stupid Tranny!

I'm a newbie here, but I'm also a member pirate4x4 and I was wondering if anybody can help me with my tranny problem. Here it goes:

I have a 4x4 95 4Runner with an auto tranny and the stupid tranny wont shift into the overdrive when Im driving. I can go drive it for about 3-5 mins to let it warm up stop, turn the truck off for a minute, take off then it will shift into overdrive. But if I dont stop, I can drive almost 15-20 miles with out the stupid thing shifting!!! And I hate it if I stop and go somewhere for about 30 minutes after warming up, it wont ลลลล again into O/D. Also if im driving on the highway for about 20 minutes doing 60-70, it will kick it out of O/D. Ive already replace my thermostat, powerflushed the cooling system, powerflushed the tranny, and installed an new tranny filter too. All these thing have helped a little but still nuthing. I took it to the dealers, and they say its normal and show no codes. I too pulled out the codes, and no codes show up. WHAT WRONG WITH MY TRANNY!!!

CEL = Check Engine Light. Could also be one of the fluid temp senders that are ON the the tranny case.

Yeah my check engine light is on but i only have codes 25 and 71. I know my EGR vale needs to be replaced, and my oxygen sensor is connected wrong. But dose this have anything to do with my tranny??? How can I find out if one of my fluid senders on the tranny???

Mine was my overdrive solenoid. It was getting stuck. It is external so it was an easy fix. I just made sure that the voltage was there when the overdrive button was selected, which it was. I could audibly hear it clicking, but at times it wasn't actuating. I agree with getting rid of CEL first though.

I've got a buddy at Garden Grove Toyota in So. Cal. I get his cost on parts. I think it was about $130. I actually tried to get a non OEM part, but it looked totally different. I decided to stick with genuine.

Yeah, don't buy until your positive it's the problem. Dealer won't take electrical parts back.
