Stereo shot?

So went wheeling in my back yard (own 18 acres ) for 3 hours with a buddy and did it for twntey minutes yesterday by myself. Two issues My fuse. Melted going to the positive post from my battery was a mess from original owner and did a quick job to get my pickup running again because that ran everything so I guess starter too no electrical was working then so out a positive wire from extra stereo wire laying around my buds house. Works fine. Trying to find what part I need to get from a toyota dealer 2. Went wheeling yesterday hit a rut. Stereo just stopped working and amp too SHORTED? I have no idea how to rip apart my dash to get to stereo (first truck and I'm 18) Any help on either of these issues would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I posted this in wrong section

Take a deep breath and run that by us again slower

All I gathered for sure was you need a manual, but I don't know what year or vehicle you didn't say..

If you intend to be offroading you need to go over the whole vehicle top and bottom front and back... But definately the electrical system at the very least, done right with solder and heat shrink, no twisting and taping!

I'm afraid to ask but.. You blew the 80amp main fuse? And ran a wire direct from the battery to where?

It's rock crawling not baja Slow down

Probably should wash my truck so I can get under it. And all that. So my second question was my stereo stopped working once bounced across rut. Unplugged? Just need to rip my dash apart

Did you put the whole can of chew in your mouth at once?

Since you ignored this whole post, you might want to read it again.

FSM instrument panel section

Start at the bottom and work your way up. I think that lower center section has a hidden screw behind the glove box.

(And now I see why everyone hates pulling thier dash, It's much easier w/o a glove box)
