Steering stablizer question ?

Steering stablizer question ?

I want to replace my steering stablizer on my 89 4tunner it has a 4inch lift kit and 33x12.5x15 MUDs on it , so my question is should I replace it with an oem factory Toyota , or should get an aftermarket one like ome or skyjacker, rancho ? , I am asking because of the lift kit and bigger tires I'm running , not sure if the oem one is good enough even when it's new ??

Check out the OME stabilizer. It's twice the size of the stock one. I put a rancho one on my runner with 33's. And it was way larger than the stock one I took off. And there was a noticeable difference after the install.

Ok so the aftermarket ones are bigger so I guess I should replace the oem one with a aftermarket one, since I'm running bigger tires thanks.

Any new one is going to be better then one that no longer works

In any case I would go with any of the after market name brands.

I like my Skyjacker 9000, but if I were to go back and do it again, I'd probably go with the OME

OME version is much larger than stock. I think OME shocks in general have a stiffer dampening rate than other companies, so it's one of the reasons their stabilizer is highly regarded. i would also make sure your idler arm/bushings are still happy since IIRC that's the next thing that takes a lot of force when the stabilizer is wearing out.

I installed my OME stabilizer at the same time I repaired my idler and repacked my wheel bearings and replaced my shocks and leafs - it was like a night and day difference for on-road handling. can only imagine it would be like new if i did the balljoints and tie rod ends at the same time.

well I replaced idler and pitman and tie rod ends almost two years ago and put new shocks two years ago so I should be good to go. , but I still have a little bit of play in the steering wheel , I know steering stablizer won't cure that but it's borderline being annoying , might have to do steering box next sucks.
