Steering Stabilizer Replacement??

Steering Stabilizer Replacement??
Ok, did a search of this forum, looked at local parts houses online catalog, can't find a match!
Pulled the OE stabilizer off the front, as expected, it's shot. Went to Autozone, they tried to give me a replacement with stems on each end (Summit, the same)
. Kragen wants to give me one with eyelets on each end. What I pulled off has one eyelet, and the other end looks like a tie rod end. Anyone know where to get one of these?

The aftermarket units should come with the hardware to mount it. I had an issue with the bolt attaching the steering stabilizer to the relay rod (?) contacting the pitman arm stop. It would sort of catch there. I ground the stop down a bit and it doesn't contact any more.

I went through 4 different rancho and procomp ones from 4 wheel parts- and not one of them were correct- they were either 2 studs or 2 hoops. So I just got them to get one with 1 stud and 1 hoop and bought a shock mount from the Help! section at Autozone and bolted it through the loop on the steering rod where the old stab ball-joint went. That let mount the stabilizer's hoop on that end and the stud through the frame.

Man, you'd think with all these companies wanting their shiny logos on the front of as many vehicles as possible that they'd at least offer the right part! Gonna try the Kragen/Checker route the netgodsrn2 went with. If not, I'll have to remain "unstabilized" 'til I figure it out. Why not? I'm unstable in every other way...

My procomp one came free with the shocks that I bought and came with the hardware. If you can spend a little more and buy a nice one like OME or Bilistine (sp?)...When I put on the procomp I didn't notice a difference over my worn out, leaking stock one.

If you want a stock location replacement, get the OME. Also get a pickle fork for removing the stud on the driver side, it'll make things much easier. If you want to use one of the others you got, you need a bracket kit, rancho makes one. I made the same mistake in getting the wrong one the first time so after getting the OME I spent the extra $20 on a bracket kit and run both. Overkill but it does more on the truck than sitting in the garage.

Semi off topic, but I've already yanked the stocker, along with ball joints and tie rods. WAAAAYYYY easier than it was with my old F150! All parts removed in under an hour! Took me a day and a few layers of skin with the F(&rd. Saw a few posts asking about how to remove these... my response: BFH, pickle fork, swing away like it was your ex!

This is the one that I have on my 4runner and it's been working good. Got it from Summit. Pro Comp ES2000 Steering Stabilizer (Part # 219500). They might have changed the part number but you should be able to cross reference it with this one at their web site. it's a stock replacement for our trucks, bolted right up with no problems. Much better then the stock one.

That's the same one I just bought. I think I paid like $38 shipped. It installed with no problems. Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure it came with 2 eyelets though. And a big bolt that went through the mount towards the driver's side with a caster nut.

i run an OME steering stabilizer and it is damn beefy. comparison of stock to OME would be a hotdog to a salami. OME has 1 stud end and 1 loop end. i even have me a spare one in the box if interested...
