steering stabilizer Part # 90 4runner

Pls help me with part number for steering stabilizer on the following brands available in the store here in Canada.

Rancho
Gabriel
Monroe
procomp

Is there any other parts i need to buy in order to install this aftermarket S. stabilizer to replace the stock one? Thanks

from my understanding if you buy atleast the replacement shock it is a direct replacement, no other parts needed. im getting redy to buy the procomp suspension and steering shocks for my truck. either summit or performance products are about the same price.

With all those brands you mentioned you need a bracket kit as well. I think anyway - procomp and Rancho for sure, not sure about Gabriel and Monroe but I would think so. I would guess they are all somewhat equal. I have the Rancho unit on my truck and I like it. Big improvement over stock, but then the stocker was long-since shot.....

The OME unit uses the stock mounting locations, but the Rancho bracket kit at least seems to be just fine.

Mr. Toytech - I assume you've done your research, so you do know than no one seems to like the Procomp shocks, right?

Procomp does not need a bracket. at least on the 92's they don't. The Ranchos deffinitely do need the bracket.

why do people not like the procomp? whats the problem? the only comment made after a search is that the STANDARD procomps were crap. im going w/ the es9000's. the heavy duty ones. otherwise there were no other complaints.

Do a search if you want. I've just never seen anything good about them and wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting in to. But if you want to swim against the current, have at it......

Are you sure about that? I think they sell them as a kit (as Ranchos are usually sold as well) but the instructions from ProComp show them using separate brackets:

http://www.explorerprocomp.com/PDFs/is/2504.pdf

Usually they are sold as a kit, but people have had experiences related on this forum where they end up with just a shock in their hands wondering how the heck the thing bolts on. Don't get me wrong - if you buy or order one specifically for your truck, it SHOULD come with everything you need. Just make sure

It's my understanding that OME is the only one that uses the stock brackets. The ball on the relay rod is pretty specialized and would require the manufacture of a Toy-specific unit. Everyone else seems to have a standard shock that they package with specific brackets.

edit: just did a search and got conflicting reports on how the procomp mounts up. Thought I could trust the procomp site but perhaps not......

according to procomp you only need the kit if your truck never had the steering shock. otherwise it is a direct replacement. i guess i will find out soon. and the search on procomp shocks turned up nothing bad exept on the standard shock. im getting the es9000.

Can you get an old man emu (OME) there online? I just bought one from www.trdparts4u.com in Dallas Tx on the internet, they shipped fast & were reasonable. I put it on today & man, all I can say is - what a difference. The OME is a bolt on replacement, no extra stuff required. They even shipped me two of them instead of one on accident, if they had told me to keep it I'd be willing to sell it to you cheap but,...no such luck. They're sending U.P.S. for it tomorrow.

P.S. I know you're in Canada but you have access to as many places to get the OME as we here in the U.S. I'm sure.
