S Q O T D

Stupid Questions of the Day

OK you 1st Gen guys.

1.) Show me pics of your battery hold downs. Mine appears to be missing and a bungee cord isn't going to cut it on the trails. I can't even figure out how it would go.

2. Any one have any sketches of a frame for an 87 4Runner? I have a sneaking suspecion that I'm missing a crossmember under the motor.

I cant get a picture for the time being, but if i remember correctly its just a bar that goes across the top of the battery, and then basically a threaded rod on the back that connects the bar to the battery tray.

My '94 4runner has a bar that holds down the battery. There are threaded rods on either side of the bar that attach to the battery tray.

Should be an easy find at a junkyard.

Yeah, I have trouble keeping mine in place with the hold down and a bungee cord. I think we may be doin' the same type trails. There's only 1 crossmember in that area, it's in front of the axle housing. They make ones that go in the same space behind the axle, they don't come stock that way though.

Thanks guys, I'm all set with the hold down, I picked one up from a guy locally.

Also in discussions with other people it seems that there isn't a crossmember right under the motor. I for got to account for IFS brackets that were cut off in that area during the SFA swap.

I think I'm all set. Thanks for everyone's help.
