Steering Knuckle and Hub Assembly

I'm searching for a replacement drivers side steering knuckle and hub assembly (not just the manual locking hub switch but the actual hub assembly that bolts to the rotor and wheel) for my 86 4wd pickup. I'm having a pretty hard time finding either of these things. The auto parts stores in my area have told me junk yard is the best bet. Are these parts no longer made? Anyone know where I can buy them?

Where are you located??

I have some that were cut off an '88 4Runner to do a straight axle swap.

Don't want to sell the Aisin lockout hubs themselves, but the knuckle, spindle, an hub, no problem.

No longer made for sure. But NOS no problem. ~$300 a piece from a dealer or online OEM supplier.

I'm up in Maine. I found a salvage yard with an 89 pickup that I'm going to take the hub and steering knuckle from. The truck is pretty rusted up and beat to hell. Hopefully these parts are in ok shape once I pull them out.

I'm up in Maine, so not too close to you I'm afraid. Are they in real good shape? Probably not much rust because your in AZ, right?

89-95 will probably work. But I know for a fact they aren't identical to 86-88. Nothing major as far as I know. One of the seals fits differently. But I've made the 89+ seals work on my 88. No biggie. Just good to know ahead of time. Also I don't think you can even get the seals for the 86-88 any more. So good to know regardless. Since if you want to replace them, you have no choice but to make the 89+ seals work.

I'll see if I can find out more.

Marlin crawler has a kit of wheel bearings and seals. And Amazon.com, of all places, sells both brass bushings and seals.

Yeah, they'll work. But the seal difference is undocumented. And is all but irrelevant. It doesn't really matter. And YMMV as far as fitment. A couple of us have had issues. I seem to remember having to modify them slightly to get them to fit the 88 knuckle. And the other guy just ran his as is and just skipped installing the snap ring. Which for all intents and purposes makes no difference.

And I checked on the 89+ knuckles. They're listed as a sub for 86-88 so they will bolt up and work the same. But like I said, the inner most seal for the 89+(and all that's currently available from MC or anywhere else AFAIK) may be difficult to install on the 86-88 knuckles. Easy to fix so it will, or easy to workaround if you don't want to.
