starter problems again

starter problems again

Just bought 89 pickup that wouldn't start unless push started replaced contacts in starter that worked for 2-3 days now it just clicks again but if you tap on starter it starts so bad spot it starter or what

i had the same problem a couple weeks ago. i just got a new starter and haven't had problems since.

Check your battery, if you don't have enough juice to push the plunger inside the starter up it will give you the same problems.

I had the same deal, changed the contacts and it worked for a little while then it made the clicking sound again. Changed my battery and have not had the problem since.

I had a friend say that replacing the contacts isn't good enough of other parts are too worn that can't be replaced. I'm not up to speed of the inner working on a starter outside the contacts so I can't remeber that specific part he said that wears.
