yep .. just that easy .
I have searched long and hard for hinges .. talked to many manufactures , there not interested .
I have even tried .. problem , for me .. close just isn't close enough . I'm pretty anal about my product , so they all have to be EXACT . nobody can seem to do that for me , so this is why I use the old ones .
best to email me .. ask me for it .. so I can "file it" so I'll remember when I'm cutting them . cj@toyotafiberglass.com
Okay sounds good I'll shoot you an email. Ill put some thought into making those hinges too. Maybe ill have you send me a hinge for reference too and I can come up with a price to make them for you.
I have a pile of them ... I buy up old gates for the hinges in my Fiberglass tail gate builds ..
so I cut out the hinges and recycle the rest ... I wont be cutting them out for a while , but your certainly welcome to 1 .. .. i'll cut it out when I'm doing the hinges .. you just pay freight .
If done this many times .. I also have a custom one for the 4runners now
Cool!
Is this one for 4Runners? Where do you place the key cylinder?
yes , 84-89 4Runners
you don't ...
window has to be dropped from the inside switch , and then you can reach in , unlock the hatch and drop the gate .
licence plate has to be relocated .
Try and get a stamped tailgate from Canada, I've noticed that they were sold here later than in the US. You could cut out the TOYOTA area and weld it into your tailgate. I usually see them rust at the top and bottom, but not on the letters, so a rusty one may not be a show stopper, and will certainly be cheaper.
Would it not be easier to just use the tailgate and not cut it?
