Jacked my tailgate, know of good dent pullers?
So this happened today:
Which is causing my rear window to not roll down (go figure right?)
I was thinking of trying one of those do-it-yourself dent pullers before i quote body shops / shop for new shell. Anybody have good experience with one of these things?
If not, anybody have any idea how hard it is to swap all the goodies into a new shell, or a good source for new tailgates?
Live and learn, hahahahaha.
Thanks All!

the wife was freaking out over something touching her while i was backing up. I paid attention to the wrong event. Didnt realize how hard it had hit until i tried rolling the window down to pull the cooler out of the back. :pat:
It sucks, but I am looking at it as a lesson learned. All in all we had a good day (PICS ) So life goes on.

1. Attach chain around a large tree.
2. Attach chain to loop on spare tire holder.
3. Put truck in gear & take up slack (this is the MOST IMPORTANT PART!)
4. GENTLY tug the offending dent back out to clear up patch for window.
5. Detach chain from truck.

Looks like it's time for an EXo
I'd call some Pick-n-pulls, see if there is an LKQ local to you.
Man that sucks, one thing I have learned about Toys is they have some real flimsy sheetmetal.

Dont try a do it yourself dent puller they dont work, they are cheap, and once you get the glue on there you can hardly get it off!!! I work in a body shop, get estimates for getting it pulled, or if you want, take off the interior panel and pound it out with a hammer! If there isnt any structural crap in there!! Just watch out for the window!

^^^ What he said!
You could also buy a real dent puller (slide hammer), and do that you'll have holes in the metal, but at this point I would assume your quick goal is to get it so you can at least roll the window down until you can get it repaired right or get another door.

Yeah, i'm thinking a new shell is the way to go. I tried taking off the interior panels, but there is so much crap in the gate that you cant get a clear shot to hammer. If im going to take all that out, i'll just go ahead and put it in a new shell. Anybody know where i can get one cheaper than $486 (Online Tailgate $120 for shipping )??
Thanks Guys!
