squeeling sound from engine pls help!

Hey. So this morning when i started my truck (90 toyota pickup 3vze) i noticed a squealing sound coming from my engine. It not as loud as a squealing belt or anything but noticable. Once my engine warmed up it almost went away but i can still hear it. My oil was low (not that bad) so i put in 2/3 of a pint and it seemd to help a bit. My initial thought was that it was a squealing pulley or something. It would only squeal from 1.2k RPM to 2k RPM then go away. I popped the hood and located the noise coming from the passenger-side of the engine closest to the firewall. (If your facing the engine it comes from the far top-left) PVC valve???
i put my ear close-by and it almost sounds like a chain whirring. It almost sounds like a external part whizzing, I think its something to do with the cam chain or valves. Is there a pully or chain in this area? Any1 think my oil was low enough to do some damage to this part? Just to clear up the position of the noise... Its under the silver cover (that big metal thing that covers the top of engine (has toyota EFI written on it) Sry no time to find out name of part... The far left top corner is where its comming from Sry for the vuege description but im late for work and wanna post. Help my sick 3VZE! (its comming from the area by the spark plug next to the firewall pass. side)

Thanks

I just noticed something like this on my '93 3vze pickup, try this:

with the engine running and the hood open look below the intake manifold on the passenger side of the truck. Somewhere in that rats nest there's a vacuum line running to the top of what looks like an egr valve, the lower one, closer to the cab. I pulled that line off the valve and the noise went away and the truck seemed to run a bit better. I just capped the line and tucked it into the rats nest, so far I've put ~200 miles on it with no CEL.

aka PAIR reed valve? I couldn't find anything about an as reed valve in the search. If it is the PAIR thing it sounds like I aught to re connect the line and check for loose fasteners... https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...d-valve-95842/
