speedometer on 87

ive been looking for an hr. for thred. yesterday speedo started goin upto 70 in second gear and seems to go normal the faster i go. pulled gear this morning and looks fine. pullled cluster and head. no visual wear. it also is slow to go to zero when stoppin. reassembled and worse now. help or guide me to thred please!!!!!!

Reassembled and came to pickup boy, now goes to 110 plus and very irratic. Don't seem like odom is off tho. Needle wiggles at base end. Cable?

Not sure if Toyotas are like this, but some speedo cables can be removed from the cable housing so you can put some lube on it. Can't remember which end you pull it out though. Isn't the speedo the electrical speed sensor type?
