Some help with the dash
I’m having some difficulty trying to figure out how this dash goes together. When I bought this truck the trim piece along the cluster (see picture ) was missing. I believe I have found the part no problem and by the looks of how many get sold it’s a common repair. So I am going to order the piece however from the looks of the dash screws secure the front to black piece shown. Anyone replaced this yet and know if I will need anything other than the trim piece ?

You have to remove the big black bezel and attach it to the trim piece and then install it as one unit. There is one more screw holding the bezel on that is behind the upper right of the temp control panel. So you will have to remove that panel first to get to that screw. Just pull the 4 knobs off and that temp panel comes right off. Hazard light switch, dash lamp dimmer, clutch bypass switches will all have to come out too. The 2 right vents will stay attached to the bezel when you remove it & the one to the left of the steering wheel will stay onto the duct.

The various Toyota part dealers are cheaper at least it is for my 92 pickup. The part is called a Hood Meter or Cluster Visor. $66.19 plus shipping from McGeorge Toyota, and $69.78 plus shipping from ToyotaPartsDeal.
The part is listed for sale from both dealers. If it is available, then the Ebay seller has a good hustle going on.

Forgot to mention, it will be easier (and less of a chance of cracking anything) if you remove the 2 screws that hold steering column cover to the shaft to make that cover loose so no need to force the bezel in or out.

Great info. I’m not sure how mine got broken off however I guess I was lucky as they didn’t damage the black tabs from the ac side. Also thanks for the purchase info ! Saved me a few bucks

Yes you got lucky they did not break the tabs off the cluster panel.
For future reference.
The big black piece is called an instrument cluster panel. The trim piece screws to the back of the cluster panel.

Im planning on changing out the stereo with a more modernish radio with Bluetooth and 3 RCA Preouts. Thinking this will be a good time to tackle this.
