Well I just went to LOWES and got a spray can of gray primer along with a can of ALUM spray paint. I'll be doing it ALUM. If I don't like the way it looks, I will go back to black. But it is turning out well. Don't no yet to how it will look on the rig, but it looks good sitting in my drivway.

I also got a can of black peimer and gave the frunt end under enging a quick shot. Really cleaned it up. Looks good so far. Cant wait to see how the skid plate will look. Taking some time to dry. Very hot here in NY as well as very stickey.

I have my skidplate on my 88 pickup (same as yours) Line-xed and it is awsome! My 3rd gen one is gettin sandblasted right now and will be line-xed as well. I would suggest somthing stronger than paint.

Not quite sure of what you mean by (Line-xed) I reall cant think of anything stronger then paint at this point. I also donot do any off roading at this point. Maby the beach at times, so it will not get beat up at all.

Thanks. It wasn't to bad to do, but getting it off was a pain in the A%S The bults were really in there. When I last had my oil changed, the guy that put in my filter really got on it I guess when he put it back on.

I painted a small section at the front edge silver, then used an old TRD sticker as a mask, and painted the entire skid black. When I removed the sticker, I'v got a black skid with TRD in silver. Looks kinda cool I think.

I painted one with some holographic 3d paint which gives the affect of severe denting/bashing... no wait, I guess it really is bent to hell. Maybe you should just screw some old license plates to it to add some strength.
