skid plate for tank
About a year ago, I replaced my 13 gallon tank with a ~17 gallon tank. I was not able to install my skid plate for the tank because the extra 3" on the bottom of the tank. Is there a different skid plate or brackets that hold the plate on that make up the differance? I would like "some" protection around my tank...

I dont know what vehicle you have....but i thought 17 gallon was stock tank size(least on pickups, know mine will take more than any 13)? Hmmmm someone chime in, maybe teach me something.

I have a 95 4runner. They had 3 different sizes. I think it was based on tire size or something...
If I didn't live in an apartment and had the tools, I most deff. would have fabed it up!

After spending a half an hour with the local dealer parts guy, this is what I found out...
I4 and V6 with 225/75/15 tires got 13 gallon tank and smaller skid plate.
I4 with 31/10.50/15 has the 15 gallon tank with the smaller skid plate.
V6 with 31/10.50/15 has the 17 gallon tank with the larger skid plate @ $189.46 from the dealer.
So it looks like I will have to find one at a junk yard. They dont have many around here, and the ones that they do dont have much in them....

List it in the classified ads on this forum and/or jump on one when a truck is being parted out. I'm sure a yotatechster could get one to you for a lot less than $186
