shock question

I have a 94 toyota 4wd. Reg cab. I checked the torsion bars and they measured within factory specs. My truck sits 2 inches lower in the front than the back. I want to level this truck out. Any suggestions. thought about air shocks for the front. 2.4 motor if it matters. The height in the back is 36 inches from garage floor to top of fender well and the front is 36 inches. Garage floor is level.

Shocks do not lift or level, springs do. Lift then match the shocks.

So any ideas on what to raise the front 1 3/4 to 2 Inches? Torsion bars, spacers?

Cranking the T bars gives a harsh ride. BJ spacers seem to be pretty popular on the board. They're on my Christmas list.

It's supposed to sit higher in the back so you're not dragging a@@ when its fully loaded.

You can crank the t-bars a bit, or get a BJ spacer. Theres a ton of threads with this info so search away...

Your truck shouldn't be sitting a full 2" lower in the front. Toyotas from the factory seem to sit level and sag when loaded. You could probably stand to be .5-1" high in the back.

Why is the back sitting so high?

For the front you have a few options.

Free: adjust the torsion bars up 1.5". Yes it will ride a bit stiffer but it is free. You sacrifice down travel for up travel.

Spacers: Spacers will give you 1.5" of lift without sacrificing the down travel. This lift increases the overall travel of the suspension. The ride will be as smooth or better. It is not free.

There are other lift kits from bracket style to long travel and SAS but the cost is way higher and it doesn't sound like you want to go that radical.

BTW, I ran air shocks in the front of my last truck. I did this to increase the IFS flex characteristics and it worked very well. You really need a modified 4" bracket style lift to make that mod worth it.

I think I will go with the 1.5 spacers. But before I do this, Could badly worn front shocks be the reason why it sits so low in the front. I am new at the the suspension thing. Replacing the parts is not a problem, but who else better to turn to than the guys who are familiar with how they work. Right now I just want the truck level. I might decide to raise it later. I might try raising the torsion bars. Butg if I do decide to go with the spacers, can someone hook me up with a good link so I could order some. I do not haul alot of stuff so loadind it down is not a problem. I usually use a trailer for hauling. Thanx guys!!

No, shocks have no effect on sag/lift UNLESS they are too short or too long.

I would go with the 1.5" balljoint spacers, I run them.

To buy them, go to www.sdori.com (elripster who posted in here), they are the manufacture of the spacers (and other parts) I got mine directly from him
