Shifter boot advice.

I just put in a new vinyl flooring in my 1989 4x4. I didnt want to have to cut big holes in the vinyl for the boot to go through so i am thinking about putting the boot and metal bracket on top of the vinyl so it hides the holes. Of coarse i will have to paint the metal to make it look good. Are their any aftermarket parts that would work to make it look better?

That will work just fine, paint the metal part black and it will look good.

Wow, that looks great. It's too late for me to try that now. I dont feel like taking the vinyl back up and I have already notched the vinyl where the screws go.

It's for the second transfer case

Probably at a junkyard, or you could post a request in the Items Wanted section. Got anymore pictures of the vinyl? I've been seriously considering buying the gray version

I will try to take some pics tomorrow. I was going to wait until I got the boots put on, but it looks like that will be a while now.

I know what the second shifter is for, I have one just like it. What I was wondering is what sort of boot he used for that shifter. Looks almost like another factory tcase boot...
