shift problems.

shift problems.

have a 1990 totyota 4x4 automatic tranny.. it will not shift out of park unless the manual shift lock override button is pressed! any help on what the problem may be? could it the stop light swith, or the shifter solenoid, or neutral override switch?

if it shifts out of park good with the shift lock override button pressed then whats the problem?

normally u press the brake pull the handle down but when u press the brake the shift button wont press and shift the only way u can get the truck to shift in gear is to press the lil black override button on the bottom of the shifter console then push the botton on the shift handle and pull down...
