Weber 32/36 high altitude questions
Is anybody running a Weber 32/36 at high altitude? If so, how does it perform? I'm preparing to order a 32/36 and I'm wondering if it would need to be rejetted since I live at and above 6900 feet. Any help is appreciated

Should be fine, you just have to adjust it according the the air. I lived at 10,000 feet for 16 years, just need to set it more lean than factory specs because there isn't as much air.

Well, got my Weber a few days ago and installed it. It seems to run ok, but it has a funky idle. Sometimes it will idle perfectly, but most of the time it tends to surge. What could it be? I'm sure that I don't have any vacuum leaks, does it point to my altitude? Also, I'm not running a fuel pressure regulator seeing as the one I had was a Spectre piece of crap. Any ideas?

First off, get a new regulator. Then double check your vacuum lines for leaks. After those two items are covered, adjust the idle mix screw and see where it's at to determine if you need a new idle jet.

Found the problem. When I removed the primary jet holder from the side of the carb to replace it with an anti-diesel solenoid, I forgot to take the jet from the holder and add it to the solenoid . Replaced the jet and all is good now!
