Shaky 2nd Gen Hoods Solutions

Does anyone else notice how flimsy the hood seems at highway speeds? The thing just shakes and does its own thing. Anyone do anything to solve this annoyance? I guess it is just nit picking, but getting asked if my hood was about to fly off was the last straw... Solutions?

Mine seems rock solid...

Have you checked where it's shaking from? Bolts, latch, that kind of thing?

Maybe you have the shaky hood mod all the ricers are raving about. I hear its comon on sunflowers. ha

hope you get that fixed, I hate it when your wondering how long its going to take before the hood smashes in your windshield.

There are some rubber stoppers that the hood runs into when you close it. They may need to be jacked up so they hit the hood. They're on bolts.

its not that it shakes. its like the material is flimsy. i dunno, ill look into the bolts, but i just get the impression that its made of tin foil sometimes.

Maybe it was wrecked and they stuck a cheap aftermarket hood on there.

My 92 shakes. The hood has separated from the frame. I guess the foam or glue has came loose.

Separated from the reinfocements underneath is also a possibility, but I even have a hole in my hood and a fair amount of the bracing cut away to fit the 3.4 swap, and I still don't have any flimsiness of the hood.

Now the '89-95 fiberglass hood that someone threw on my '83 when the original got damaged...that one flops all over the place at 35 mph.

I had a horrible rattling at idle.Took all kinds of stuff off until I figured out the reinforcment separated from sheet metal on hood.Take off hood, spread some weatherstrip adhesive into the frame to metal contact areas, turn hood flat side down to ground and put some heavy stuff on it.Let it dry and you good to roll.

Was planning on doing this but with some liquid nails. Since I have some already.

sometimes the adjustment bushings aren't set right allowing the hood to rattle a little bit. But this is if the latch isn't properset either.
