Selectable Lockers

I'm sure the thread is in there somewhere, and I've tried to search for it, but I come up with alot of ARB or ELocker stuff. I was wondering if anyone knows about any selectable lockers that will fit my 90 4runner that are like the OX Locker or something I have to crawl under and lock(if those exist).

If you find a thread for me or have the answer I'd sure like to know

There is a conversion, Downey OffRoad, to make the e-locker a cable locker.

If the motor on an elocker goes, you can crawl under there and move it by hand because the motor only flips states, where on an ARB, air pressure is required to maintain the locked state.

But I guess the question is - why? The ARB fails "safe" (to an open diff), either one you won't be stranded if the locking mechanism fails.

to answer "why" I'd prefer a physical cable connection. Don't know why myself, but thats the way I am.

i have been looking into the idea of lockers myself. This limited slip four wheel drive kind of stinks, would like to increase traction. Detroit, ARB and many others offer lockers

I'm not as interested in the lunchbox style lockers.

Does anybody know if theres a way to convert a rear axle to something the Ox Locker fits?

Not unless you put a full-size axle in there. My suggestion would be to go e-locker, they're awesome!

I have been using the elocker for a few years now and love it. Has NEVER given me any trouble. When I hooked it up, I just used relays....not the factory control box, no resistors, just relays.

Swap in a Dana axle... go to the ox page and see what fits....

it will be much easier to add a e-locker and the cable accuator

That would be an interesting setup as OX uses a special diff cover that has the cable acuated fork in it.. I wonder how they get it to work on a yota?
