Seat swap?

So as I'm sure we all know, the comfort level as far as seats go leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to 2nd gen runners. So here is my question, has anyone out there swapped theres out for something else? i.e. aftermarket or from another vehicle? If so, how easy was it and would you do it over again?

I just bought 1994 4runner seats from a junkyard, $50. Going to go put em in pickup right now actually LOL

Same seats in friends '92 pickup and they fit and were very comfortable.

beats my stock bench.

Soarerjzz, you got a link or a number for Jarco? I went to their site but couldn't find anything.

Thanks! I checked those out. I don't think I'm quite ready to shell out 500 bucks for a used set of seats that have obvious wear and tear on them. Even if they are Recaros. But I will keep an eye on the seller and see if anything else pops up. My old man has them in his 70 Camaro and I really like the way they fit. Not too mention they keep you nice and snug while out on the trails.

I replaced the bench seat in my 88 standard cab with buckets out of an 02' Honda Civic. Had to bend one seat bracket a little and enlarge a bolt hole. Other than that, 3 of the 4 holes lined up so only had to drill one for each seat. Worked out pretty well. Got both seats on ebay for $50.00 and they were like brand new. They are also narrow enough to leave room for a small center console that came out of a jeep.

Dear Mr. MMA_ALEX,
Yo dude, what's with all the hostility?! Just so you know, I DID do a search before I posted this thread. And also just so YOU know, none of them had info in them that was what I was looking for...Hence MY thread. This isn't my first rodeo, I know how things work around.

Oh and just because you pissed me off a little...
There's only TWO kinds of ships in the world, submarines and targets!

Yota Tony, how did the Cherokee seats work out? Easy install?

Just installed these (a few hours after my first post)

This replaced a factory BENCH. These are out of a 1994 4runner and believe it or not are a DIRECT bolt in. They are about a cm narrower than the factory holes so you have to pull a little but not much. Otherwise perfect fit.

*only one seat has a cover on just to show what the original seat looked like*

Just Learning, your dog is just breaking them in for you. I'm hoping to find some new seats for my 89, just hope I can find them for cheap.

are the people who complain about people searching hosting the space for this site on their server? what's the big deal. yeah, some posts are ridiculous, what kind of oil should i use, what kind of tires/wheels should i buy, etc, etc, but this is the best seat thread i have seen yet, and i have been searching for a while. all i ever wanted to know was if a set of second gen seats would fit my 1st gen 4runner and for the first time a direct response and with pictures. awwwsommee.
great freaking thread
