OIL LEVEL LOW, Please Help

OK, I just had new HG's, Valve Job, Timing Belt, Water pump and other small thing done to my runner. It seems to be using 1qt of oil every 2000 miles. any help please. It is a 95 4x4 4runner with a 3.0 Auto. Also, I put aprox 100 miles a day on it doing high way driving.

another thing you can do if you dont see smoke comming from the exhaust go out at night into a parking lot with street lamps and put the truck in neutral and floor it for a second and you may be able to see smoke.

smells normal to me. As far as any leaking, I been checking and never see a drop on the ground at any time.

my truck has a front seal leaking....it never drips but on long drives it will sling oil everywhere and thats the only way you could even know its leaking....very small....doesnt do it while driveing around town but when i drive hundreds of miles it is definetly noticeable and like you have to add a quart every so many thousands of miles...look down by the main pully on the engine and you may see oil around there....or on the bottom of your hood.

when i got my 87 22re it would go through about a quart every 250 miles or so. recently i pressure washed the engine compartment and replaced the timing chain and all associated gaskets (crank seal, oil pump, timing cover gasket, water pump) since then i have put about 600 miles on it and the engine compartment is nice and dry....when i pulled it apart it looked like the crank seal was where the worst leak was

Do you think you might be burning it? Were you using any oil before you had all the work done. I just had my HG, timing belt water pump t-stat, valve seals, and other little stuff done as well and I used to use about a quart every thousand miles now after a thousand miles it hasn't leaked a drop. I have a 95 3.0 too 157k. If it's not leaking I'd take it back to the shop, could be your valve seals if you had a valve job...

Although, Toyota does consider a quart every thousand miles normal use. So if you're using a quart every two for an 11 year old truck that's no big deal.

That's true, it says it right in the owners manual.
