Searing Injectors - Whats the Secret?

Inserting the rails with injectors already attached into the seats (spacer) I always seem to get one the is a few mm proud (the rubber spacer against the rail is squished) compared to the others on the rail. I've tried switching the bottom seals (the ones on the pintle caps) from the ones with the little lip to the generic donught ones and I still seem to be getting the same problem. I've tried taking everything off and reassembling and the best I've managed is to switch the injector that is standing proud . . . . What's the secret to getting them all seated properly? it seems to usually be one of the outer ones that's giving me a problem if that's a clue.

i remember having trouble with that, when i rather stupidly re-used the set that goes into the manifold(?), i think it was.

it's still running after 8 or 10 years, but there are marks where it looks like a bit of fuel might have gotten past the seal, not sure how that possible when it's running under manifold vacuum.

i've seen people reporting vacuum leaks from the seal wearing out or not sealing right? i'm not sure what running failure looks like, when it didn't seat correctly.

maybe post a photo of the failed install??
