Having a small issue with the drivers side hub right now. When it is unlocked (wheel is in free spin) I am getting a little noise coming from it. It only does it when unlocked almost like a dry bearing sound.

Search IFS spindle lubricator. Common on IFS trucks when weather starts to cool down. You can also pull CV out and grease section that goes through sprinkle.

Just pulled the outer bearing and it looks like it could use a little love. Going to call the local parts stores and might just replace the bearing since it's already a part.

Cool, lube spindle too. It rides in on a brass bushing and gets dry. Also make sure spring is through both prawns for locking hub, as it won't release otherwise. That will cause shaft shaft to spin.

Be be prepared to wait a day or two for parts. Have had shortest wait through Napa for wheelbearings.

Auto zone had it in stock. No test drive yet but was very simple and extremely messy. When I can better prepare I am going to break both sides down and make sure every thing is 100%. The old owner replaced both CV shafts and I am not very confident in other people's repairs.

Freaking score on autozone!!! I hear ya on other ppl's repairs. Some tricks to make removing shafts easier. Cut replace time down to 25-30 mins including getting tools out.

you coming out tomorrow??

You will have to post up some pics of the trip for every one.

Unfortanitly I am still getting noise out of the drivers side axle but only when the hub is unlocked. My guess is the inside bearing has some wear and tear on it. The strange thing is you would think if the bearing was worn out it would be making noise all the time.

I'm in pretty much same situation. Didn't realize it was bad till on trail when I finally put in 4wd driver-side wheel wasn't turning. Pulled hub dial face once off trail. Rusty water poured out, so been there for awhile, hub gear was frozen in place. Long story short, bearings are shot too. Just rebuilt knuckles last Nov. But 30 year axles need a bit more TLC. Seal beds are ridged and could see where water was getting in on wheel bearing hub and spindle. Just dropped an order for new parts, ouch.

Someone shot driver's window out. State gravel road between trails made random stop for an over heating jeep. Shut door walked 12' away from rig and blam-o window broke. Didn't see anyone but after getting jeep going. We were standing around talking, as you know always loads of BSing. One of the guys had his dog out, was standing next to us talking. Dog came off the ground, yelped, ran behind owner, started licking hind quarters, the ran over to opposite side of road and hid in overgrowth and hid. Owner had to pick dog up to put in jeep. Turns out it's archery and air-rifle season, so no report from shot. Bright side is I was riding solo, but other rigs had families and obviously dogs.

Well I hate to say it but I am happy I didn't get mixed up I'm all of that. Air rifles don't have that long of a range so the shooter is lucky no one came after him.

Was on private land. Had seen a truck and unloaded trailer, so figured at least one hunter in area. without seeing someone and I looked I wasn't just gonna to trespass.

Now waiting on parts postpones going to rausch creek next weekend

Lucky for the guy shooting that no one there had a CCW and was willing to use it for defense. I'd say call the local police, even if you have no way to ID who was shooting, reporting the incident might help link other shootings together if there has been any others from the same person.

CCW this is the great liberal state of NY. They actually totted a man on local radio station as a hero. During a home invasion the guy fell down the stairs and rolled over one of the invaders just gave him the opportunity to run away. So down the street he guys left girlfriend and their child in the house. Just not the way I was raised.

Yeah think your right about calling cops though.
