picked up a complete set of manual hubs from a local guy. Traded him a extra light bar I had sitting in the garage. Looking forward to swapping my 95 auto hubs out in the next day or so.
I would much rather have manual hubs over auto. With my auto hubs, I make sure I am engaged before getting into a sticky situation. Sometimes it could be to late with auto. Great score.
Life has been kicking me in the teeth this week. Looks like the VAFM is out on the 3VZE and the stupid highlander (02 3.0 24valve) is throwing a #1 knock sensor code. One day I will get to installing the hubs but right now I am elbow deep in the highlander.
What is the part number on the mass air flow meter? I have a few trucks around for parts from that generation. I can test before I send it, multi meter and on a good running engine.
Good score on the manual hubs, I've been collecting them for a while from each truck I get. I have a good 4-5 sets now . They are great upgrades for T100's with ADD, and I think they are the same as the tacoma ones if you have the correct hub setup for them.
If you have a multi meter, here is how you can test the mass air flow meter for the 3vze (22re is different for other ppl reading this). I've used these details to validate good mass air flow meters a few times with no returns on ebay. Also make sure the air flap moves freely and there are no scratching noises. I don't remember off hand which pins to check for the % open reading on the flap, but if it doesn't run that probably isn't the exact reading causing it.
Pickup 3.0L v6
The 7 contacts at the air flow meter are in this order: Fc-E1-E2-Vc-E2-Vs-THA (yes there are 2 "E2" contacts)
The specs should be:
Vs-E2.......... 200-600 ohms
Vc-E2.......... 200-400 Ohms
THA-E2 ....... 10-20K ohms at 4*F
.................. 4-7K Ohms at 32*
.................. 2-3K ohms at 68*
.................. 0.9-1.3k ohms at 104*
.................. 0.4-0.7k ohms at 140*
Fc-E1.......... infinity
It's nearly impossible to tell from the pictures but are those solid axle hubs? They are different than IFS hubs. The solid axle hub dials stick out just a bit over the black outer hub cover. The IFS hub dials are totally flush with the black outer hub cover.

I am running a 7MGE supra VAFM however the door was stuck wide open and I think it's just worn out.
As far as the hubs go I was told they came off a IFS truck when the owner did a SAS conversion on his 88.
But in all seriousness, the spline count is different. Companies sell conversion gears to turn an IFS hub into a SFA hub but as far as I know, the opposite cannot be done.

Grats on the smooth swap out, hopefully my dad's T100 is just as easy. Tacoma sadly isn't quite so easy for my truck, but I have the manual hub parts to swap it out.
