sas swap question about gears
1) I'm gathering parts for a sas swap and finally found an axle, its an 80' front axle, the gears are 4.375, is that close enough to my stock 4.30's untill I can upgrade them later, I probably won't use the 4wd for anything but mud.
2) This axle from what I've read this axle doesn't have a full truss, but it looks like the truss goes from the diff to the driver side u-bolt, also I read that the caliper bolts on differently then the newer straight axles but it looks like the same mount as my 4runner.
any help would be great!!!

fork, not the truss on the top, the axle I'm looking at has a factory buit in truss on the bottom.
I can get this axle for $70 complete from side to side, so I think its a good deal.
does anyone know about the vented brakes though?

On the 79-85 Toyota SFA you can upgrade to vented rotors and the big 4 piston IFS calipers. You need the vented rotors that have 8 holes, 6 for the wheel studs and 2 to bolt onto the SFA wheel hub. You will probably need wheel spacers with the big calipers or a shallow backspacing on your rims like 2" or do the IFS wheel hub swap, or the big calipers are gonna rub on the rim.
Just look on my website...all the parts you need are there. Again, if you got questions, just shoot me an email.

another question, what about the sway bar? should I get the stock sway bar with the axle and mount it on my 4runner? this truck is going to be driven mostly on the street so I think I need one.
also is there anything I can do to make the steering work with the stock parts or do I need the crossover aftermarket stuff?

Sway bar:

Crossover steering is the best option, or go old school and do this:
