Question sas question......

hello all i have tried to search for my answers and have founds some answers but would like a direct answer if anyone doesnt mind.. i dont mind getting flammed just to get an answer.. i am mechanically inclined.. i have a complete 83 truck with lifted springs good front and rear end... but the frame is junk.. typical rust and a few spots that have broke and been repaired.. i also have a 86 frame with the ifs still intact with a good 86 cab. since i already have everything on the front and rear end like steering componets and lifted springs i am trying to avoid buying a ifs swap kit. been looking to buy the parts individually. like spring hanger for front and new shackles shock mounts. shackles for rear and shock mounts... my question is do i really need a ifs swap kit or is the way i am planning to do it a reasonable way to do it... what other steering componets would i need to acquire? do i need crossover steering kit or hysteer? or will the steering componets i have on my 83 work properly? any helpful tips would be greatly apreciated...

You are basically still doing a SAS so you'd come out cheaper with a kit than buying parts individually.

cheaper

how much cheaper would a kit be minus shocks ,leaf springs, steering stabilizer, dif armor, knuckle service kit, wheel bearing kit,... i dont need these things so no need to buy them.. the front and rear end has already been redone. but i dont need a complete kit for $1000 or so.. will anyone put together a custom kit for you... if so that is the way i wanna go... just dont wanna buy parts that are not needed and waste hard earned money on stuff that will sit around till i might need it at a later time.. thanx much

You just need to buy parts then and you should get the hysteer/crossover steering.
