my 86 4runner starts fine ,but when it gets warmed up the rpms drop and it hesitates while driving around 2000 rpms then I give it some gas and round 3000 rpms it kicks in and its fine. I have no idea maybe fuel filter I don`t know

 

Start with a full tune up plugs,wires,cap/rotor, fuel filter see if it makes a difference then go from there.

 

do the tune up if that dont help check the fuel pump if that aint it check for vacume leaks and if that dont work check the distributor itself

 

I`ve done a full tune up expect for the fuel filter, so I guess I`ll start there.

 

My truck is doing the same thing as u describe. Its my TPS sensor, just dont have cash to replace it yet. Check to see if your throwing any codes.

 

I had a similar problem and it was my spark plug wires. Did your problems start before or after that tune up?
