Running lights and dash illumination not working

have a '95 22re 4runner. Swapped out the turn signal relay last night for a modified one to fix the hyperflash since I went to LEDs. It was light out at the time so I never tried the running lights and dash illumination. At night, I went to go run some errands and realized immediately, "Uh oh, they aren't working." I swapped back to the old flasher relay thinking, "Maybe it's unhappy?" Zero change. I thought, "If the turn signals work, then the running lights have to be on a separate circuit so I don't know how this would affect it.... and it isn't like I reversed polarity on anything..."

- Checked the fusebox. All fuses are fine on voltage. Getting 12v as expected.
- Checked what I could find online and have read there's apparently a running light relay, however, unable to find it. The fuse box labeling says "ecu or running" - which seemed odd.
- Starts fine, runs fine, drives fine, radio is fine, blower is fine, climate control works. So it seems to me this is a separate circuit.
- Checked continuity of all fuses and even replaced them all, zero change. All perfectly good closed connection post to post on the fuses in both the engine bay and kick panel box.

One thing I noticed is, if I very quietly turn the headlights on, I hear the headlight relay click. However, if I turn the lights to running mode (just before turning on the headlights) no click. I would assume they use a relay. However, after googling and looking for diagrams I've not successfully found anything on the forums outside the fuse box diagram.

I did realize that getting to the flasher relay was a pain and it was tucked up in there a ways, perhaps I disconnected something else without realizing it? If so, cannot see that far up even on my back scooted up near the pedals, it looks like that would be a dash out scenario to get that far up in there. Or at least part of it. I did notice a plug with what looked to be 8 or 10 pin outlet on it up near there, but I could not see anything it plugs into. Part of me wondered, "Maybe a part of a feature it didn't come with? Or.... something i unplugged?" but see nothing it could go into, at all.

Update: Pulled the bottom panel cover off, dimmer switch is also plugged in.

Another update: Looks like the running lights share the relay with that cylindrical metal relay in the fuse box. A friend of mine was able to confirm it on his.
I pulled mine out and tested it, it is not closing the circuit so I believe I have found my issue. Uncertain why it is doing this the same time i swapped the other out, could be pure coincidence but I have a new relay showing up at oreiley's in the am and will test it again. Sounds like that may be my culprit. Will post once I have an update in case anyone else comes across this. Looks to be the odd shaped 3 pin relay where the blades are very close together.

Ended up being the relay that is 90987-01003. Appears while this comes up as "horn relay" it is actually running lights and dash and illumination and a bunch of other stuff.
Replaced it and all is well now.
