Trying to locate blinker relay on 76 fj55, any hints? Just got this thing and don't know my way around it yet.

above the pedals would be a good start, i take it the flasher unit is inop? usually yota's flash fast id=f a bulb is out but something that old may not flash at all. check the basics first and let me know. also they could have used different flasher for hazards and for t/s if so they would be next to each other

Toyotacharles,

Thanks for the reply. Running lights work, brake lights work, hazard flashers work but blinkers dont. If I flip it to right turn, right back light comes on and stays on but doesnt blink.
Flip it to left turn, nothing comes on. Found what looks like it might be blinker relay under dash close to steering column but it is square. Have a parts manual with tiny pic of relay and in the pic it looks round, so not sure if I have found the right thing or not. Should maybe order the new one and use its appearanc to make sure of what I am looking for?? Or do you have any other thoughts on what the problem is based on info above? Thanks for your help.

srry had not seen your post for a couple of days. Have you checked power and ground at the sockets? this model is old enough to not flash when a bulb is out. could be using another source for ground except when t/s is on. ordering new one should not be harmfull and i would if it were mine, but in my line of work i have worked on enough i wont own one.

You get it working? I'd be betting on ground issues. If one bulb isn't working then the other one won't blink because of the resistance value of the circuit.
