RR crossing conked out my 86 4runner

Hit a surprise RR crossing about 30mph faster than I should have. Stalled out and sputters when I turn it over, but won't run more than a second or so. I checked all the wires and plugs I can get to on a hot engine roadside. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you knock the cable loose from your air box? Any loose hoses that could cause a vacuum leak?

The airbox looks all good, can't find anything loose, unplugged.

Like Terry says. Getting combustion while cranking but shutting down when IGN key is released usually has something to do with the circuit opening relay and the AFM flap. Here's how it works:

When engine cools down. Inspect all connections again. Pls see signature.

Got a tow on the way, this should be useful once I get it home. Thanks!

Red face

I wonder if the landing caused the Circuit opening relay to be damaged after all it is getting up there in age .

Then it could be almost anything fuel related .

I'm betting on loose wiring/connections.

Got down to around 45 when I hit the tracks, but I did catch some respectable air. 😂

I assume this is a FE motor? Check your tab or spade style terminal connections at the injections this has more common than not been an ongoing issue.

Need more specifics. I put a new COV in and it still just turns over, without starting. Yes, all 4in the air.
