ok after trying to check my mpg i came up with 25..... this just totaly doesnt seem right!
ok i filled up (full tank) my od read 216176. I hit the 3/4 tank mark and it read 216276 so if a 1/4 tank is 4 gallons. i went 100 miles on 1/4 tank so that makes me getting 25 right????
^thats kinda confusing lol

you cannot base it on your gas gauge. The only way to check real world gas mpgs is to: 1. fill your tank up. 2. drive around, til its low. 3. Fillit back up. 4. Divide the miles by the gallons of gas you put in.
Remember the gas gauge does not account for the extra 1-2 gallons at the top of the tank and filler neck.

yes fill it up to the "gills" then drive till the gas light comes on your empty... then take how much fuel was in the tank by how many miles your went... write your odo meter at the gas station

Nono, take how much fuel you put into the tank until the pump handle pops off, THEN divide the miles you traveled by the gallons you put into the tank.
That will get your MILES traveled per GALLON of gas used

Example:
fill up gas tank. Odometer reads 114,969
drive till your tanks low. Odometer reads 115,204 when you fill up.
By that math, you went 235 on that tank or until you filled up. you put in 13.2 gallons. Divide 235 by 13.2 which gives you 17.8 mpg.
Now if you have larger tires and your odometer is off, you need to calculate your differance.
Ken, on yours, do you have a trip odometer? If not, I wonder if theres a GPS system that moniters distance traveled you could purchase.
