Replacing Engine, What Else to Get?

In the next week or so i will be replacing my 22re with a rebuilt engine from Oregon Engine Rebuilders. I will be pulling it myself and when the new engine shows up will be installing that myself.

I want to make sure i have everything ready on that day to put it back together. What else should i replace while i have the engine out?

I know i will want to pick up new intake and exhaust gaskets and lots of vacuum tubing to replace, possibly get injectors cleaned while out. Anything else you would or must replace when removing and reinstalling the engine?

Thanks

I'm getting ready to pull my block out and I am going to replace my clutch and fuel filter before putting it back in. Also thinking of buying one of those starter rebuild kits.

You are a brave man buying an engine from OER. Keep us updated with the future problems...

I second that.. What motor do you think you'll buy after you blow that one up in a few thousand miles.

Here is a thread you should read.

haha, yeah, i've seen the thread. although i believe last time i looked there was only the first page so the tone has certainly changed at the end there. We have a 22r that was purchased from OER (mid 90's) has 300k on the dial these days and not a single problem yet. I guess i will find out if the quality has slipped recently.
