It's a good upgrade to do if your running some subs and your light dim when you turn up the volume. Go to the service manual link here

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...l-link-131168/

or just search for it under the 86-95 trucks & 4runners forum, i believe it's a sticky so it's easy to find. Just download the torrent, then if you don't have a program to open the torrent you can get a program for free (i got OneSwarm and it unzipped it just fine).

Another option is going to Nctora and printing/reading it there

http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...es/repair.html

This will tell you everything you need to do to remove and replace your alternator.
good luck

you dont have to remove the dist. just get the airbox out of the way. loosen it and take the belt off and pull out the alt. Also if you have an electrical shop near you they can rebuild your alt. instead of paying for a replacement. its alot cheaper. around here about 60 bux. should take you no more than an hour to do the whole job.
