Replace 3VZE head bolts?
I have just rebuilt my 3VZE engine and it only has about 275 miles one it. Have an exhaust leak and 2 of the studs on one of the heads are stripping out. My machine shop says bring in the heads back and he will replace them with helicoils. Now here is the question: should or they need to be replaced? I have read it is mandatory every time they come out, then I have read some people just re use them. Since I have less than 300 miles on them are they still considered new? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ps they are coming off anyways because I got a nasty lifter making noise and the machine shop said that they would re check shim gaps again since they supposedly have done it as part of my valve job.

I would replace the headbolts for peace of mind, if nothing else.
The 3VZE head bolts use a 'torque to yield' tightening regime that stretches them when they are tightened. This often permanantly elongates them and weakens their clamping ability. I would never tighten such bolts more than once.
