Removing front sway bar for desert running
Anyone have any thoughts regarding front sway bars and removing them for desert running. none of this 4x4 slow rock crawling stuff(not hating though, i mean come on, who doesnt like rock crawling?!) i got a 2wd 88 w/ 3 inch body lift.

It's 2wd so removing the sway bar won't affect much. You may get more lean but...
... you didn't say if you have any sort of lift or travel kit intalled.
We have a 91 2wd with Fabtech 3.5" lift and uprated torsion bars and have the sway bar in but there really wasn't any noticible difference between having the bar in or out.

The nearest dessert is far far away, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I do frequently drive faster than most on gravel roads. If your doing a lot of turning (includes donuts) leave it on for sure, my 2wd had lots of body roll as is.
If you're doing high speed straight line stuff, then maybe take it off, but I didn't notice an improvement in ride at higher speeds without the sway bar myself.
I definitely leave mine on on my 4wd 4Runner until I'm doing slow speed stuff, but my truck is such a different kettle of fish compared to yours. Maybe look on TTORA, as it seems to be a little more dessert-oriented.
