Remove light from A/C switch?

The bulb as burnt out on the A/C switch on my 91 4Runner. I have the switch out, and there's a white socket with a slot for a flat-head screw driver that I assume is removed to access the bulb. Now I would assume, that all I need to due is turn it counter-clockwise to the left until it stops, then it should come out, maybe even need a little tap to loosen up; but nothing seems to work.

Is there something I'm missing, it seems so simple yet it just doesn't want to come out.

Here's a picture of it:

a turn to the left should make it come loose. Wokes on mine. Btw those little lights are about $15 a piece at the stealership, and that's the only place to get em haha. I swiped a bunch of switches off a prime 95 at the junk yard cause all my lights were burnt out.

Yeah, I already ordered one my usual dealership but it "only" cost me $11 and change.

Got it out, ended up turning it all the way to the left then pulling up a couple of the wire leads and just brute forced it out. I don't like doing it this way, but this time it worked.

Hopefully the new bulb comes with a new socket, this one's a little mangled.

And thanks for the confirmation I was doing it right.
